Frances with Bob the Lobster

For the first meeting of 2026, our speaker was Frances Mitchell with a talk entitled Bob's World Tour 2025. The Bob in question is a life-sized plastic lobster, dubbed Bob the Lob, who was originally a raffle prize at our Surrealism party. Frances won him and decided he would be a member of the NSC himself, making him his own club tie. The talk was about a round-the-world trip that Frances and Stuart took last year, with Bob along for the ride. While many people encountering Frances with a plastic lobster doubtless assumed she was mad, there were plenty of others who were much taken with Bob and it was evidently a great conversation starter. The talk included plenty of Bob's holiday snaps, seeing the sights and meeting up with the Sheridan diaspora in places like Australia and Hawaii.
