To mark an astonishing 20 years of the Club, the Glorious Committee are holding a celebration.

We had originally planned to have a full-on party on this date, given that October is the 20th anniversary of the first meeting of the New Sheridan Club (after about a year of Gustav's old Sheridan Club). However, our attempts at securing a suitable venue have fallen through and we have moved that event to December. Nevertheless, we'll still be holding an informal gathering on the original planned date.

We will start at the Jackalope pub, which used to be the Dover Castle, scene of our annual Christmas Moot up until it closed in 2016. At the time the rumour was that it was being turned into a bistro of some kind, but in fact two years later it reopened as a pub again.

Then we will make our way to the Wheatsheaf, the venue for our monthly meetings until last year, when it too came under new ownership and closed for refurbishment. It is now open again, under the same name, though the old upstairs room where we met is now a dining room. We will revisit for old time's sake and to commune with the literary ghosts who made the place seem appropriate in the first place.
