Dickon Edwards diary launch

  • The Boogaloo 312 Archway Road London, England, N6 5AT United Kingdom (map)

You may know Dickon Edwards from his appearance in Nathaniel Adams’s book I Am Dandy, and he is also a writer, academic and pop musician. He also has an online diary that, it has been argued, is the longest-running blog on the internet, dating back to 1997. I have been contacted by publisher and occasional visitor to the New Sheridan Club Robert Westwood to alert me to the forthcoming publication of the first volume of collected writings from the diary, covering the period 1997–2007. There will be a launch party for the book on 24th October to which all members of the NSC are warmly invited. Mr Edwards will speak about his book and tell the story behind the venue's wall-mounted photograph of himself in Tangiers with Shane MacGowan. "Dandy attire essential", it says here, though I'm sure that will be no hardship for members of this club.

Moreover, there is a Kickstarter campaign to fund publication of the book. In fact it met its goal within two days and has currently raised almost double the target, but you can still use it to place advance orders.
