The Candlelight Club is an award-winning clandestine pop-up 1920s speakeasy, in a secret London venue lit by candles. Each event offers live period jazz bands and vintage vinylism for your dancing pleasure, plus a dining options, cocktails bars and more.
As the nights draw in and the party season kicks off, we’ll be warming up the dance floor with red-hot ragtime music from the seven-piece Trudgeon’s Trad Jazz Troubadours. Leading the revels will be Host With the Most, Champagne Charlie, with a saucy song and a cabaret swagger, who will introduce joyous burlesque from Miss Betsy Rose. When the band aren’t playing, DJs the Bee's Knees will be spinning vintage vinyl into the night.
In a side room our tarot reader Lucius will be on hand to glimpse into your future, Michelle Krauszwill be offering sparkling delights at her pop-up vintage jewellery shop, and a photo pod from AR Photobooths will let you create the ultimate Jazz Age selfie—with a prize for the best photo of the evening. There will also be a complimentary dance lesson from George and Sarah, this time teaching Balboa, a form of jive.
Our venue will be a south London ballroom. You can come just for drinks and dancing but you can also reserve a table with Champagne, or book the three-course dinner. There’s even an inclusive-drinks option. Ticket-holders receive an email two days before revealing the secret location (which is close to a tube station). So pull on your flapper dress and get ready to Charleston…
"The closest you'll find to an authentic Jazz Age experience in central London. Its unique ambience, fuelled by hundreds of candles, is truly a scene to behold." —Time Out
