The Tweed Run

  • London, England United Kingdom (map)

Admission: £49 (£20 for children)

The Tweed Run, world renowned for being the most sartorially impeccable event to take place on two wheels, is returning to London, offering a chance to parade through the streets in vintage attire on a vintage bicycle. (Attire and bicycle supplied by yourself.)

This year’s route is currently a secret (I think it is only revealed to ticket holders near the time) but will begin with a muster in a London square with live music. Participants can expect a leisurely day of cycling with intermittent breaks for a spot of tea and a bite to eat, finishing up with cocktails to celebrate. I’m pretty sure Bourne & Hollingsworth are involved as the event usually manages to end up at their B&H Buildings establishment.

In previous years tickets have gone on sale at midday on a particular day, and used to sell out very quickly, but I think last year there wasn’t the same feverish demand, and I see that tickets for this year’s event are already on sale at tweedrun.com/tickets.
